Fighting evil by moonlight.

Sailor Venus

So, I have this huge obsession with Sailor Moon. I grew up watching this television show and although bits and pieces are still a little blurry, I just remember standing in front of the TV with my hairbrush pretending I can transform into one of them.

... Yeah. Obviously it didn't work.

Anyways, up until this day, I've always loved Sailor Venus and the mysterious Tuxedo Mask (yeah. I know. He's not real.) So when I watched the reboot on Hulu this morning, I freaked. I more than freaked. I wanted to bust out the same exact hairbrush I used when I was a kid. I can't say I'm a HUGE, SUPER FAN and take part in cosplay during conventions but I'm slowly learning the background of Sailor Moon all over again.

Please tell me I'm not the only one excited about this. Now I have to wait until July 15 for the next episode.

Typical 4th of July post.

Taylor Swift vs. Miley Cyrus

Okay, let's be real. There are two kinds of people in this world. People who dress like Taylor Swift on 4th of July or people who dress like Miley Cyrus.

I'm not hating on either but I'd go with the first. I'm a fan of both but my body just cannnnnot rock outfits like Miley Cyrus as much as I'd like. I was laughing as a I was scrolling on my Twitter feed last night with everyone's assumption of how girls would be dressing today. The biggest winner was high waisted shorts and bandeaus, haha.

After seeing all of that, I was inspired to make a super simple Polyvore set. Knowing me, if I do decide to stop binge watching American Horror Story and have a life, I'll most likely wear something very closely to the outfit on the right.

4th of July

Anyone have any major plans? Or, are you not into the whole fireworks craze and screaming "'Murica!" at the top of your lungs?

#SFPride2014

- Potential Pride Parade outfit -

- Denim Shorts purchased on ashleeeybashcloset -

- Hot Topic Suspenders -

- Shoes purchased on an Instagram shop -

- Blurry photo of Maximillion -

Happy Pride Weekend!

Living in the Bay Area, you're used to the madness of what is known as "Pride Weekend." This will be my first year attending the parade and I'm so excited. I think I figured out my outfit but I'm still debating if I should wear my black Converse Chuck Taylors or those boots. Eh, I never figure out until about .05 seconds before running out the door.

However, my outfit will be completely boring compared to all the others who I know will be dressing up or not dressing up at all...

Meet Maxi (Maximillion, Maxipad, Maxi Shadow).

I can't believe I'm only now putting him on my blog. This is the love of my life. He tends to step into every photo I try to take but never looks directly at the camera when I call his name. Basically... He's a diva.

I should rest up for the pride parade. I'm set on trying to find Ross Matthews if it's the last thing I do tomorrow.

Tees are a Tease.

Band tees are a tease when you go to a concert. You know you want a lasting memory but breaking your wallet for a $40 shirt that just has a plain band logo on it? At the time it seems totally worth it and then after a while.. Cleaning out your closet.. You're just thinking (or at least I know I'm thinking), why?

However, most of my band tees I own I tend to cherish for life. I'm a victim of obsessive band tees disorder (OBTD), I mean.. If that actually exists. I have tons but I always run out of ways to wear them.  (My most recent purchase was from the Jonas Brothers concert this past Tuesday) I do the usual: high-waisted shorts, boyfriend jeans, black pants. Oh, and I can't forget the occasional circle skirt.

S.O.S. How do you guys style your band tees? Or if you don't have any band tees, who would be your first purchase?

Oy. Here we go again.

Okay okay. I really need to get in the habit of posting everyday. I have so many things to post but I get lazy to actually do it. (Story of my life.) It's August already and I'm starting school again in a few weeks. Where in the world did my summer go?

Over the past few weeks during my hiatus, I've been to the Philippines, attended many concerts, and completely bummed it at home. I know, I'm asking myself why I didn't just blog away my life while I was bumming it. I'm questioning myself too..

It was just yesterday when my dear friend Elizabeth finally started her own YouTube channel, ThinkOfGlitter. Check it out! (I attached it on the bottom also just in case you're lazy) I'm really excited for her and what's to come. She motivated me to kick myself in the arse and get started with my life. So, naturally I took a stab at it and I decided to start my own clothing line.

It's really basic actually. I'm thinking of calling it BASH. The background behind the name? Nothing to it really. I'm known for being called ashleeeybash. So instead of name branding my name with my actual name, let's just cut it down. I'm in the process of talking to a vendor and producing one design.. I'm not going to go too crazy just yet. I just want to hear people's feedback and if people actually like it. For now, it's all typography but people go crazy for it! Have you seen how people snatch clothing from Brandy Melville?

It's always been my dream to start some sort of fashion line. Ask anyone who went to high school with me. I lived and breathed fashion up until .. basically forever when I realized I can't draw for shit(aki mushrooms). But that shouldn't stop be. I know how to work with the computer at least. Over the next few days I'll recap on my concerts I've been to with reviews and my adventures.

Fair warning. I am twenty and yes, I am a fangirl.

Little Minx.

Purse: Thrifted, Shirt: Jawbreaking, Skater Skirt: Target , Shoes: Nordstrom Rack, Peas: Trader Joes

A quick trip to Berkeley! Went with a friend to try out a tea place we've never been to called Asha's Tea House. Good to remember when I need a place to study. It's super quiet but really affordable and delicious drinks. Anyone in the Bay should try it. I always love walking around the streets looking for new places to try but it's always sort of iffy at times because I don't want to waste my money on something I don't like. But it's an adventure, that's for sure!

My shirt, Little Minx, needs to be talked about. I found out about the brand Jawbreaking last year I believe. Being me, a five-year-old trapped in a twenty-year-old body, I was completely on board knowing celebrities were wearing this brand. (Ha, nerd. What a bandwagoner.)

Twenty year old Aly Silverio started this brand when she was just in high school and over the past years, her brand has escalated. Just recently, Urban Outfitters picked up her brand to be sold on their website (Seen Here) and in Zumiez (Seen Here)

Yes, I will admit sometimes I'm bitter because I wish I could have been able to do this. But I have to give Aly props! She's come a long way for being only twenty! I think everyone should check out her shop, I linked it above. She ships worldwide!

P.S. I know I'm a day late, but Happy Music Tuesday. I love Tuesdays. Big Time Rush and Jimmy Eat World both came out with good albums. I am REALLY upset I didn't go to Best Buy first to get the deluxe edition. I already opened both CDs. Bummer.

Denim on Denim

Denim Vest - thrifted, White Top - Bloom, Red Shorts - Purchased through Instagram

This is the first time I actually attempted wearing denim on denim and I didn't even realize it. How'd I do? I feel like that's such a hard style to showcase especially with different washes of denim. This was an outfit of the day from a few days ago but oh well. I found the little sweet gem of a shirt in a small store I barely step into. To my surprise, they have a lot of cute things at an affordable price. I should quote the word affordable because affordable to me is anything in the $1-$10 range. Ha!

Like my mini-setup of a photoshoot area? I don't know how people always seem to have a free white wall. I feel like my parents unknowingly knew I'd want to start a fashion blog and covered up every wall possible causing me to craft my own setup. I use this mostly to snap photos for my Instagram shop.

I always stress how much I wish I could have a closet full of grunge clothing. I'm making my way there.. slowly. Until then, I'm streaming Freaks & Geeks on my best friend, Netflix and taking notes.

Enjoy.

P.S. I'd like to give a shout out to Miley's Bun. From one bun (Shaniqua) to another.
