Yes, I survived!

Well, that was a given. This year's theme for the Pride Parade was Color Our World with Pride. I'm not sure if people actually pay attention to the theme but either way, the streets were definitely covered with color.

I had no idea what to expect but I had a really fun time. I wish I had more photos but I decided not to bring my camera due to safety issues so I had to rely on my iPhone. Too bad I'm really short so I basically have two photos of the parade that I took on my tippy toes.

Later in the evening, after the celebration, I found out Big Boo (Lea DeLaria) and Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) from Orange is The New Black made an appearance. (Did you guys know Taryn sings?) Bummed I missed them but it's OK.

Arielle (Oakland native!) is the next best thing. Last season's Real World was the only one I watched religiously just because it was taking place in San Francisco. Oh, and to those who wondered. I didn't get to see Ross Matthews.

There were so many things going on that I missed throughout the day but next year, I'll know better.

Quick Funny Story: I lost my sunglasses on the dance floor and right when I realized it, I looked up and I saw a complete stranger wear them. I knew they were mine so I told my friend to ask if they found it on the floor. Yep, they did. So, I awkwardly had to ask for them back. While she was wearing them. Highlight of my day.

Happy Pride Weekend!

Living in the Bay Area, you're used to the madness of what is known as "Pride Weekend." This will be my first year attending the parade and I'm so excited. I think I figured out my outfit but I'm still debating if I should wear my black Converse Chuck Taylors or those boots. Eh, I never figure out until about .05 seconds before running out the door.

However, my outfit will be completely boring compared to all the others who I know will be dressing up or not dressing up at all...

Meet Maxi (Maximillion, Maxipad, Maxi Shadow).

I can't believe I'm only now putting him on my blog. This is the love of my life. He tends to step into every photo I try to take but never looks directly at the camera when I call his name. Basically... He's a diva.

I should rest up for the pride parade. I'm set on trying to find Ross Matthews if it's the last thing I do tomorrow.

New Music Tuesday (June Twenty-Four Edition)

I love music. I love new music Tuesday. I've been waiting for Ed Sheeran's new album x for awhile now so it's been on constant repeat this morning.

But, I also must acknowledge Bay Area native G-Eazy who released his new album These Things Happen. I'm still bummed I missed him during Warped Tour two years ago but congrats to him because now he's really up there.

I hate the question, "What kind of music are you into?" It's actually a difficult question to answer because there's no specific genre I'm drawn towards. I will admit, I'm still getting used to screamo so give me a few years to catch up on that. But then I often get hit with the response, "No. There has to be one genre you really listen to." I don't want to come off like a douche so I say whatever pops up in my head first. But... I guess if you're reading this then you most likely know my secret.

I love love love recommendations (especially lately on Spotify, they've been promoting good artists). Who should I listen to?

The colored hair trend.

- The Ready Set @ The Warheads Stage -

- The Ready Set -

- I grew up listening to this band, Bowling for Soup. It was weird when they sang the Phineas and Ferb theme song -

- We The Kings -

- This Wild Life -

- Echosmith -

- Nick Santino (A Rocket to The Moon) -

- The Maine -

- Pat Kirch from The Maine -

- Travis Clark from We The Kings -

This weekend I hit up the Vans Warped Tour 2014 (20th Anniversary!) and I was pooped the next day. Needless to say, I had an awesome time filled with awesome music. Best of all, I finally met Travis Clark from We The Kings.

Quick Story: Four years ago, I won meet & greet passes with We The Kings at the county fair. I showed up ten minutes too late so I was unable to ever meet them. I always dread looking back at that day. Ever since then, every single time I go to one of their concerts, I've been trying to think of strategic ways to meet Travis.

I saw a lot of the bright colored hair trend. Pretty sure I saw almost every color of the rainbow but I respect it. I wish I could pull it off.

I've been to my fair share of concerts throughout the years (wow, does that make me sound old or what?) I've learned the concert etiquette just through observing but I always have a few things that still bug me.

ASH'S CONCERT NO-NOS:

1. When people leave their hands up flailing back and forth, not even going with the beat
2. When you're standing next to a couple during a rock concert and they're grinding on each other. There is a time and a place, people. Not at a rock concert. It's super awkward for people (like me) who have to feel the swaying.
3. When someone records the whole entire set
4. The obnoxious pushing to the front of the stage. I get it. I won't hate on this too much because I'm guilty of this but you don't need to push everyone

Is this just me? Am I missing something to add onto this list?

I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!

Ok. I'm not really going to Disneyland but that's what people say when they've done a really big thing, right? I WISH I went to Disneyland but... I'm at home. So...

Six months since I last blogged. I see a recurring pattern that I do. I blog right before school is about to start, pause, then I start again when school is over. Since I don't have school anymore, let's just say I have a lot more time on my hands.

I was talking to my friend last night over dinner about how much I despise being an adult sometimes. Don't get me wrong, it has its perks! But it's hitting me how I really need to get a job, make mature decisions, and stop wasting my days watching Orange is The New Black (which I finished by the way. YAY FOR ROSA!)

Growing up is a trap. It really is. I stand by that quote so much that I decorated my graduation cap with that quote. Thx Peter Pan.
