I've spent too many nights watching "How I Met Your Mother" alone

June 22, 2013 - Warped Tour (Mountain View)

My warped tour spam! <3 This was my second year attending and I'm so glad I went despite my two hours of sleep after coming home straight from San Diego. I don't regret it at all. I actually ended up experiencing warped tour by myself basically and it was not bad! I met some really nice people who I clicked with here and there. I don't see anything wrong with going to concerts alone.

I became a huge fan of William Beckett after his acoustic set and caught the last bit of my favorite duet I fell in love with my first year, Young London. Some others that should be mentioned are Rosedale and The Early November. There are so many other bands worth mentioning but then this post would never end. If you haven't been to Warped Tour , trust me. Try it. It's not just one genre going on there!  Plus the merch tables are the best part. That's where I happened to run into Brian Logan Dales from The Summer Set. Sigh. My heart.

I will marry a musician.

xx

L.A. L.A. BABY. (And San Diego)

It's been a while since I posted. My apologies. I had quite the adventurous weekend. Last Wednesday, two of my friends and I took a road trip down to Los Angeles/San Diego to surprise one of our friends who goes to school down there. It was my first time going to SoCal without my parents (I know, I sound so nurtured) so it was something I was really looking forward to! I fell in love with Los Angeles but it felt like when I was there, I couldn't think of any place I wanted to go to at that exact moment.

I sort of kept hoping I'd run into some celebrity. I have this dream that one day, I'll go to Los Angeles and run into let's say.. Skylar Astin (I have the hugest crush on him) and we'll fall in love. It could happen...... Right?

My friends showed us around I guess the "hang out" spots like PB and needless to say, I spent a buttload of money on food and clothes. (Most especially Brandy Melville speaking of that, just about every teenage girl at The Grove wore a Brandy Melville top) It was a good time with good company. I have to mention that I FINALLY got my Stitch pillow pet. I've had an obsession with it because I realized how much Stitch reminds me of my own pup, Maxi. Mission accomplished. Now, I need the Dumbo pillow pet.

I was proud of myself for the fact that we came back to the Bay at around five in the morning and I was able to go to Warped Tour six hours later. I'll talk more about that in another post.

For now, enjoy photos! (Taken by my point & shoot camera along with my iPhone)

Can I just add that I had no idea how fast paced Porto's was? I stepped inside and everyone seemed like an expert while I stood in the middle of it all with a completely dumb look on my face. Also, rest stops are my favorite things in the world. There's something about stopping in a different city just for a quick second and seeing what's around it even though it's really all the same: gas stations, fast food joints, etc.

Oh. Also. You should try out Babycakes if you're ever in the San Diego area or if you live there and you've just never tried it. We lucked out since the place we were originally going to go had a long wait. This mac n' cheese was bomb (dot com)!

Enjoy.

Little Minx.

Purse: Thrifted, Shirt: Jawbreaking, Skater Skirt: Target , Shoes: Nordstrom Rack, Peas: Trader Joes

A quick trip to Berkeley! Went with a friend to try out a tea place we've never been to called Asha's Tea House. Good to remember when I need a place to study. It's super quiet but really affordable and delicious drinks. Anyone in the Bay should try it. I always love walking around the streets looking for new places to try but it's always sort of iffy at times because I don't want to waste my money on something I don't like. But it's an adventure, that's for sure!

My shirt, Little Minx, needs to be talked about. I found out about the brand Jawbreaking last year I believe. Being me, a five-year-old trapped in a twenty-year-old body, I was completely on board knowing celebrities were wearing this brand. (Ha, nerd. What a bandwagoner.)

Twenty year old Aly Silverio started this brand when she was just in high school and over the past years, her brand has escalated. Just recently, Urban Outfitters picked up her brand to be sold on their website (Seen Here) and in Zumiez (Seen Here)

Yes, I will admit sometimes I'm bitter because I wish I could have been able to do this. But I have to give Aly props! She's come a long way for being only twenty! I think everyone should check out her shop, I linked it above. She ships worldwide!

P.S. I know I'm a day late, but Happy Music Tuesday. I love Tuesdays. Big Time Rush and Jimmy Eat World both came out with good albums. I am REALLY upset I didn't go to Best Buy first to get the deluxe edition. I already opened both CDs. Bummer.

Denim on Denim

Denim Vest - thrifted, White Top - Bloom, Red Shorts - Purchased through Instagram

This is the first time I actually attempted wearing denim on denim and I didn't even realize it. How'd I do? I feel like that's such a hard style to showcase especially with different washes of denim. This was an outfit of the day from a few days ago but oh well. I found the little sweet gem of a shirt in a small store I barely step into. To my surprise, they have a lot of cute things at an affordable price. I should quote the word affordable because affordable to me is anything in the $1-$10 range. Ha!

Like my mini-setup of a photoshoot area? I don't know how people always seem to have a free white wall. I feel like my parents unknowingly knew I'd want to start a fashion blog and covered up every wall possible causing me to craft my own setup. I use this mostly to snap photos for my Instagram shop.

I always stress how much I wish I could have a closet full of grunge clothing. I'm making my way there.. slowly. Until then, I'm streaming Freaks & Geeks on my best friend, Netflix and taking notes.

Enjoy.

P.S. I'd like to give a shout out to Miley's Bun. From one bun (Shaniqua) to another.

Now raise a glass.

Would you rather stay in on a Friday night just to save a few extra dollars? Do you order from the dollar menu? (Duh, parfaits! Thanks McDonalds!) You're in the perfect spot. This is a blog for you. As a college student, money is in my hand one second and out of it the second after. I'm sure a lot of people can relate.

Just like you and many others, I have a super big problem spending more than I should (Most of the time on food, unfortunately). I tell myself all the time to not go out or try to figure out ways to hide my money from myself. I even put money in my savings account only to take some out three days later for something unnecessary or something that seems necessary at the moment. I shouldn't be alone on this though. I'm just proudly saying what others refuse to admit. One day I'll learn how to save.

This is for the ones who don't know how to save. The ones who try desperately to figure out how to save. The ones who try to save every dollar possible but are taunted by that one piece of clothing you just have to own. The ones who feel obligated that they have to own designer clothes in order to become a fashion blogger. It's not all true. Welcome.
